We’ve just started doing the initial design of the website for MetaStellar, our new magazine of speculative fiction.
The magazine will officially launch on September 1.
It will pay authors of new, previously unpublished short fiction 8 cents per word for fantasy, horror, and science fiction. We will only require first-time publication permissions. Authors will keep all rights to their work and can republish it elsewhere a month after it goes live on our site, including on their own websites, in other publications, or in books or other media.
To support the effort, please donate to the MetaStellar Patreon fund.
If you would like to be a founding member of our editorial board, please contact me at maria@korolov.com. We are looking for people who are authors, or aspiring authors, editors, artists, or people just interested in science fiction and supporting new outlets for speculative fiction writers.
We also plan to launch a YouTube channel where we talk about fantasy and science fiction and, hopefully, interview writers. We’ll be looking for co-hosts and guests for that channel.
And we’ll also be accepting non-paid work, including reprints of stories published elsewhere, book excerpts, reviews of books, films, and TV shows, and video games, essays, news writeups, author Q&As, and similar content related to speculative fiction. All contributors will get a bio box with their name, photo, bio, and links to any websites, Amazon pages, social media pages, or anything else they want.
Again, get in touch with me at maria@korolov.com if you’d like to contribute, if you’d like us to publish an excerpt from your book, or if you want us to do a book review of your book.
